BAPTISM

Believer's baptism is exactly what those words literally mean - "the immersion in water of a believer in Christ as a way of stating their new life in Him!" Baptism does not make you a believer, but rather, shows that you do believe, and acts as your public statement of faith that you are not ashamed to be called "one of His followers!"

Since baptism is commanded of us as the way to demonstrate our new identity with Christ as our Savior and Lord, (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12), we expect all followers of Christ who wish to be members of PHBC be baptized as believers. We joyfully celebrate this "coming out as a follower of Christ" during the monthly Celebration Services held on the 4th Sunday evening of each month.
